Fiesole

We ventured into the hills just north of Florence while Pat and Steve were here to see Fiesole, a former Roman settlement and now a pleasant suburb with a great view of Florence. It was a nice bus ride, but we ended up walking most of the way back as the buses were very crowded. Not a bad place for a walk however.

Romanesque church in Fiesole.

Another view.

Franciscan church on top of the hill.

View from the walk back down the hill.

The Duomo in the distance.

Tree in a wall.

Interior of Domenican church.

Exterior. Not just any Domenican church. This the church where St Dominic started the order.
